Easter in Medina del Campo was declared a Fiesta of Regional Tourist Interest in 1993 and a Fiesta of National Tourist Interest in 2005 and it holds one of the oldest processions of Spain. Nowadays, nine penitential processions founded
by Saint Vicente Ferrer in 1441, with more than five hundred members
of a brotherhood (cofrades) march during these religious celebrations. |
